Thoughts On Eldrick
by Frank Agostinelli

I could easily draw out a huge article on Tiger Woods but I refuse to. It's a waste of time and I will state the obvious. People put too much stock in others rather than themselves. Think about it. He is the greatest golfer of our generation and quite possibly in the history of the PGA. His appeal is obvious.Tiger WoodsMany idiots [still] call him Black and he excels at a White Man's game. Well, Asians excel at a White Man's game too. Save the what you look like is what you are in America nonsense. If you like having people tell you what to do and when and how to do it, move to a Communist country. In America, the bottom line is you control who you are and what people think about you shouldn't matter. I couldn't care less he cheated on his wife. But many do. I couldn't care less that he is a lousy tipper. But many do. I like him as a golfer and I like what he does with his foundation. Other than these 2 factors it wouldn't make a difference if we shopped at the same supermarket and fought over the last rack of extra large eggs. And you know I'll win that fight easily. Most people need to look in the mirror and believe in who they are instead of looking up to and at everyone they wish they could be. Why not stop wishing and start doing? Let Eldrick be Eldrick and you be you!

I Guess We Ain't All That
by Frank Agostinelli

What do President Obama, Jon Gosselin, Tiger Woods and Tila Tequila have in common? They're all mixed. Right. But what else? If your life is predicated on how great Mixed Race people are, well they just screwed your entire existence up. No question, what these four have done publicly is embarrassing. One hundred and forty-some odd days in the Senate over 4 years for this? Jon & Kate Plus Eight ain't too great. The Transgressions of Tiger and Tila Gone Wild. Sounds like a few B-movies at the local drive-in. For many years I have listened to the Mixed Race people are beautiful, talented, intelligent and special lounge act. Well, special for sure.

I have never been an advocate of the high-horse encouragement that runs rampant not only for Mixed Asians but every single person walking Buddha's green Earth. I was around it long enough on forums to be irritated by it but there is something that just pisses me off about the constant baths of chocolate sauce. An almost sing-songy anything you can do I can do better. At first it's cute and funny in a ha-ha-he-he sort of way. No harm, no foul, correct? But what happens is the more you hear it and see it and the more you gauge the overtly positive reactions to it you realize there are some too many who believe this crap.

Morris Day and Jerome

Because of the identity crisis bestowed upon us, many of us have found the wrong method of coping. While I empathize with them, I didn't cope like most. I didn't engage the Morris Day and Jerome mirror act. I have no plans to filibuster this and speak of the hypocrisy behind it. I will simply pose the question, do you find it funny in your own every day dealings with people that the ones who brag the most seem to fall face first every time? I won't use the word poser because it's pretty lame. Just be true to yourself and everything will be all right.
