There are too many things wrong in America, but the one thing that appears like Mr. Deeds’ butler on a regular basis is the blatant misinformation doled by the media hypes. Enter one Rush Hudson Limbaugh (hmm, hmm, hmm) and the lies manifested by the ones who many in America get their news from.
Unless you are a resident of the ever attention deficient township of Unda’a Rockville, most are aware that Rush Limbaugh was part of a group led by Dave Checketts who was interested in buying the NFL St. Louis Rams franchise. Checketts approached Limbaugh about becoming a bidding partner. Discussions took place between Checketts and Limbaugh about the potential problem that could arise by him joining the group and Checketts stated everything was okay. Evidently everything wasn’t okay. As soon as the news leaked Rush Limbaugh was interested in buying the Rams, the slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark. quote appeared. A quote Limbaugh stated he never said and a quote that was never found to be true. So much for journalistic integrity. Many news outlets as well as personalities (most notably Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton) expressed their opinions about what Limbaugh didn’t say with reckless disregard. The end result was Limbaugh being dropped from the group. Limbaugh fought back through his show (which is alleged to have an average of 15-20 million listeners a day) and an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal.
After the dust settled and the smoke cleared, one individual with more baggage and racist comments than an American Airlines flight full of Ku Klux Klansman, Al “I’m Not Too” Sharpton declared a victory. Then something funny occurred: news outlets started saying they didn’t have a source for the quote. Sharpton never once acknowledged the quote was bogus and never offered an apology. Then again, the Duke Lacrosse team is still waiting for their apology. While a few feebly attempted to apologize for it others never did. Please note, Jason Whitlock is the only one to man-up and give a sincere apology.
Limbaugh has been called a lot of unflattering things. Most notably he’s a racist, he’s divisive and he’s polarizing. This is attributed to his political views and nothing else. Well, if he was a racist, divisive and polarizing my alter ego the Angry Half-Asian Man would have a big problem with him. The Angry Half-Asian Man doesn’t find Rush to be a racist, divisive and polarizing because he has taken the opportunity to listen and understand where Limbaugh is coming from. The Angry Half-Asian Man is not a hyper-sensitive individual who whines, cries, bitches and moans when he hears the truth being told by anyone including Rush Limbaugh.
Even though he doesn’t agree with everything the King of Talk Radio says (and yes boys and girls you can disagree with someone and still like them), he backs him on this issue one hundred percent. Unfortunately, because most may be blind to this fact, this wasn’t just an attack on Rush Limbaugh but an attack on anyone who doesn’t follow the crowd. Our forefathers created a country that affords one the opportunity to be anything they want to be through hard work, drive and self-motivation. Our forefathers created a country that affords one the opportunity to be their own individual too whether you are liberal, conservative or somewhere in between. While some liberals are clueless and will say it had zero to do with Rush’s conservatism, I have a question to ask you. Why is Keith Olbermann the liberal allowed to be Keith Olbermann the NFL co-host? In the words of Olbermann in reference to any of you answering this question sincerely as well as objectively, he’s not gonna make it!
If we were to throw out Limbaugh’s political views then he shouldn’t have a problem becoming part owner. But I know better. Some Einstein will puff their chest out and ask, “Well didn’t he have a drug problem? Huh? What about that?” First of all, my advice to you is shut up. No need to act as if you won a trophy in the One-Upmanship Competition, because you didn’t. Secondly, you’re right. He did have a drug problem. And when he is asked about it, he speaks about it with no apprehension. If you are implying being a recovering drug addict disqualifies you from owning a team, okay. Now go tell Fergie she has to give back her percentage of the Miami Dolphins. What? Are you on meth or something?
Although the ORCS (opportunist race-chasers supreme) Clique of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton succeeded in having Limbaugh kicked out of the bidding group, Limbaugh succeeded in validating how his political views and lies fabricated about him were used against him. It’s a pyrrhic victory for the ORCS and a moral victory not only for Rush but for all of us.
